Here's why you should keep a pair of polarised sunglasses in the car

11th Feb 2025

Recently a traffic pile up in North Carolina involving 130 cars was caused at least in part by the glare of evening sunshine reflecting off a wet road after recent rain. We have all experienced this - heavy rain followed by a spell of bright sunshine. This can lead to very high glare conditions. When combined with low sun it can dazzle drivers making it very difficult to see - and clearly hazardous. According to an analysis by the AA, dazzle is a factor in the injury of 3900 road users each year - an astonishingly high figure. These are the conditions when polarised sunglasses really help - that's exactly what polarised sunglass lenses are designed to do - stop glare reflecting off a hard surface like a road. The difference between normal sunglasses and polarised sunglasses in cutting out glare reflecting off a surface is huge. So why not keep a pair of polarised sungases in the car? We have a huge choice available starting at just £14.95. Click here to see them.
